Compost Use for Control of Grape Powdery Mildew

$8.00

This study is an outgrowth of a half-decade of European effort on Brinton’s part, and especially a collaborative effort between Dr Traenkner, Univ Bonn, and Woods End, in developing compost microbiology practices for Germany (under the company name of AUC- Agrar Umwelt Consult, sold off in 2000). The report outlines the extraordinary and careful scientific steps in studying a disease-host complex as exampled with grape powdery mildew, and shows the types and preparations of compost extracts, later called “teas”in America- from which successful control of sporulation and economic disease control could originate with compost. “After all the hyperbole of compost teas as panacea liquids that you see in the popular media, reading this report is sobering and particularly helpful” (reviewer).
