Store Dewar Self-Heating Procedure
$5.00
(Biocycle Paper) A report by Woods End on the test method first developed in Stuttgart, Germany to measure residual heating potential of composts, called “Dewar Reifegrad or “Ripeness- Self-Heating” Test, named after the super-insulated flask resembling a giant thermos in which the test is conducted. The Dewar test was first applied in Germany virtually at a regulatory level, as a means to estimate the nature of unfinished compost products. “Most compost products on the markt then were highly immature and a simple test was needed to demonstrate this in a more objective manner”, say the report authors.
